OBSA’S STORY
Obsa, a 7-month-old child, came to Asosa General Hospital to receive cleft lip surgery. He was accompanied by his father his mother, and his sister. The family, who are farmers, live in Asosa Town. Obsa is the fourth child of his parents.
JOHALAN’S STORY
Johalan, a one-year-old child, travelled from the Gamo Zone to Arbaminch General Hospital for cleft lip surgery, arriving with his parents, who are both merchants.
ABDULHER’S STORY
Abdulher is a nineteen month old child who came to Asossa General Hospital to get cleft lip surgery after hearing about one of our programmes. He arrived at the hospital with his mother and his father who are both farmers.
WAKJIRA’S STORY
Wakjira is a 15 month old baby born with a cleft lip in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. Wakjira’s mother brought him to Ambo Referal Hospital after learning about our treatment programme from the Oromia Broadcasting Network on social media.
KENAKET’S STORY
Seven-month-old Kenaket, arrived at Ambo Referral Hospital with her parents seeking cleft lip treatment. Kenaket’s mother shared her experience, describing the initial shock and upset that she felt when Kenaket was born with a cleft condition.
BONSA’S STORY
Despite having no family history of cleft lip and palate, Bonsa was born with this challenge. Bonsa’s family have experienced both the social and health barriers that come with having an untreated cleft condition.
ASLI’S STORY
Nine-month-old Asli, born with a cleft, arrived at Yoyya Hospital in Adama with her parents. She is the daughter of Umar and Hamziya Adem, residing in the Oromia Region, East Arsi, Bokoji woreda, where her family works as farmers. Umar mentioned that such cleft cases had not occurred in their family before Asli.
AMEN’S STORY
Amen came to Arbaminch General hospital to receive surgery for his cleft lip. He was four months and two weeks old and came with his parents. The family found out about Project Harar’s programme from Facebook.
DOCTER’S STORY
Five-years-old Docter came to our recent program at Saglan Wajee general Hospital in Holeta. He travelled with both his Mother and Farther, who are farmers from the Arsi Zone. At the programme he received surgery for his cleft lip.

Abkeb, a six-month-old child, was brought to Saglan Wajee General Hospital in Holeta to undergo cleft lip surgery as part of our recent program.
HABTAMU’S STORY
Habtamu, who is nine months old, came to our recent programme at GAMBY teaching and general hospital with his mother to receive cleft lip treatment.
MOHAMED’S STORY
Meet Mohamed, a brave nine-month-old who recently received cleft lip surgery at one of our programmes. Born in the Oromia region of Ethiopia, Mohamed’s parents, Ayat and Fatuma, travelled a long distance to seek treatment for their son.
BEDESA’S STORY
Four-year-old Bedesa and his father Abera, a farmer from East Arsi, travelled to our recent program at Ethio Tebib Hospital in Addis Ababa. Bedesa was seeking surgery for his cleft palate, having previously undergone cleft lip surgery in a previous program we conducted.

Sumaya, a seven-year-old girl from the Arsi Zone, accompanied by her father, came to Ethio Tebib Hospital in Addis Ababa to undergo cleft palate surgery.
